An early and rare plum ‘Courges’ vase by Lalique
R. Lalique (1860-1945)
This plum (purple) colour vase is an early example of Lalique’s small industrial production before World War I. The vase Courges was designed in 1914 and is based upon the vegetable zucchinni (eggplant). Some of these courges have been high polished and others underwent a raw finish thus making it a very lively decor. The piece is signed with the early extended ‘L’ mark. These early industrial pieces all have small differences due to its hand finished work and polish. This example is very well preserved and in a totally original condition.
Height: 20 cm.
