A monumental Picasso ‘Wood Owl’ pitcher
Pablo Picasso (1881-1973)
Not often one can lay its hands on a monumental Picasso ceramic piece like this lovely ‘Wood Owl.’ Picasso loved the owl since once a small owl has been hiding in his workshop and was taken care for by the artist. Concieved in only 250 examples in 1969, making it one of Picasso’s last edition pieces for the Madoura workshop in the South of France. The condition is excellent. Signed at the underside with both blindstamps and the handwritten edition mark.
Height: 30 cm.
See: Ramie, page 290, number 604
Provenance: A private South of France collection
